After a flight of thirty-three hours and thirty minutes on May 20 and 21, 1927, Lindberg landed at Le Bourget at 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, 1927, before a huge, cheering crowd. - Underwood & Underwood founded 1881 in Ottawa Kansas was a producer and distributor of stereoscopic and other photographic images, and later a pioneer in the field of press office photography. Aerial photography: in 1924-25, Underwood & Underwood took the first aerial photographs. The quality of the images was excellent for the time and rivals that of modern aerial shots in terms of detail. The Underwood brothers retired in 1925, leaving the company to C. Thomas Underwood, Bert's son. The company ceased trading in the 1940s. Works attributed to Underwood & Underwood are held in many of the world's museums and other permanent collections.
