Accompanied by a "Compagnie Générale Aéropostale" bearer coupon for 500 Frs, format 8.5 x 14.5 cm, in a coaster, format 32 x 23 cm. - On June 13, 1930, Guillaumet took off from Santiago in his Potez 25, bound for Mendoza. Surprised by the raging Andean blizzard and technically unable to continue, Guillaumet was forced to make an emergency landing some 3200 m above sea level, on the shores of a lake: the Laguna del Diamante. He was found 7 days after his disappearance by a child named Juan Gualberto Garcia, limping and exhausted along the Yaucha stream, over 60 km from his plane.
