- In Nancy, on May 23 1988, Michel Platini's jubilee took place at the Stade Marcel in the presence of many of the world's football stars, who were in Lorraine to take on Michel's Equipe de France 84. Among them were Diego Maradona, Pelé, Ruud Gullit, Enzo Francescoli, Rabah Madjer, Lothar Matthaüs and Zico. A great crowd for a match that ended 2-2 in front of 40,000 spectators.
