- René Couzinet was a French aeronautical engineer and aircraft manufacturer. After two trials, Couzinet successfully flew the Arc-en-Ciel single-engine triplane across the Atlantic from Senegal to Brazil in 14 hours, with Mermoz as pilot, on January 16, 1933.
