British naval officer's saber.
Gilt-bronze mounting, lion-head cap, single-branch hilt decorated with a crowned anchor with pierced joint arch for passage of the lanyard. Wooden spindle covered with stingray and alternating filigree.
Straight blade with 3/4 engraved decoration, number 34467.
Leather scabbard with two chased brass fittings, one with movable ring.
L. 95.5 cm
(Blade a little oxidized, scabbard missing and in very poor condition).
